Seletar is one of Singapore's best-kept secrets. The old Seletar air base area has been converted into the Seletar Aerospace Park — a cluster of aviation MRO companies and private jet facilities. The colonial-era black-and-white bungalows at The Oval and surrounding area make for some of the most atmospheric living in Singapore. It genuinely feels like stepping back in time. Yio Chu Kang, closer to Ang Mo Kio, is a more typical residential neighbourhood with HDB estates and a cluster of condos near the MRT station. The Seletar Country Club area and Lower Seletar Reservoir offer waterfront walks and fishing spots. This is not a district for people who need to be in the middle of the action. But for those who enjoy a slower pace, a bit of aviation history, and some seriously beautiful old trees, D28 has character that money can't buy.
